For 50 years now, the name Chaussures Pierre Roy, a family business, has been synonymous with quality and innovation. An independent retailer of shoes for men and women, the store has been located in downtown Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu since 1972. The adventure began when Mr. Pierre Fraser and Mr. Joseph Roy purchased the G. St-Germain boutique, which was situated at the current address of Chaussures Pierre Roy. They decided to change the name, renovate, and expand. This is how the name Chaussures Pierre Roy was born, combining the first name and surname of the two owners. Pierre was 22 years old, and Joseph was 55. Even today, Pierre Fraser is still called Pierre Roy, even though "Pierre Roy" has never existed! Still passionate, he is at the helm of the store and has been joined by his two children, Stéphanie and Louis-Philippe, who have been supporting him for several years and are committed to continuing the tradition. The arrival of this new generation has breathed new life into the business. They have opted for a refresh of the products and the store's style to keep up with current trends and the tastes of the younger generation, without neglecting quality and ensuring the store maintains its reputation as a comfort destination. Several innovations have been made regarding management and purchasing, and the decoration has also transformed. The major renovations completed in 2008 provide the store with a distinctly modern and welcoming atmosphere that allows it to stand out from the competition. Shopping takes place in a warm and relaxed environment where friendliness reigns.

The company’s mission is to serve men, women, and children in the Haut-Richelieu region by offering, season after season, an elaborate range of high-quality shoes from renowned brands, stemming from business relationships with suppliers who use top-quality materials while giving a special place to Canadian products. The stable network of relationships that the company maintains with its suppliers allows it to build strong ties with various agents and creators in the fashion world, enabling quick access to coveted products. All this is aimed at adequately meeting the specific needs of its clientele. Pierre and Louis-Philippe regularly attend various international trade shows to find original and exclusive shoes.

Indeed, the extensive expertise of the employees, who collectively have over 50 years of experience in retail and outstanding after-sales service, explains why customers appreciate their shopping experience. The representatives regularly receive training that allows them to provide the best possible service. At Chaussures Pierre Roy, customer satisfaction is the ultimate priority. In the spring of 2000, the company received the Excellence in Business Award in the region for its customer service quality from the Haut-Richelieu Chamber of Commerce and was also a finalist for the Customer Orientation Award at the 2002 Gala des Mercuriades.

The company supports several local causes, including the Foundation of the Haut-Richelieu Hospital. Its contribution to the economic revitalization of downtown Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu is also considerable. The company has been sponsoring public shows held downtown on Sunday afternoons, much to the delight of the citizens. Additionally, Chaussures Pierre Roy employs numerous interns from the Cégep de Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, and the general manager gives several lectures annually on SME management at this educational institution.
